I clamorosi autgol di Baerbock e la tenuta della Spd, l’altro partito di governo, hanno completamente stravolto la campagna elettorale della Cdu.
Senza il proprio braccio destro ultracattolico, Laschet ha dovuto affidarsi a una ex direttrice della Bild e il suo vecchio avversario Friedrich Merz. Il risultato è una retorica aggressiva che poco si adatta al candidato.
Secondo i sondaggi, i tedeschi non sembrano per ora spaventati dallo spauracchio di una coalizione di sinistra, e a due settimane dalle elezioni la Cdu/Csu non sembra essersi consolidata dietro la nuova linea.
