Al di là della vicenda in sé c’è anche una guerra di potere fra Pérez e Tebas, due soggetti che usano il calcio per accrescere il peso politico personale. Nessuno dei due è un santo né un difensore della democrazia del calcio.
La Spagna è diventata il terreno di scontro della questione Superlega, fra club irriducibili e tribunali che pretendono di dettare regole di portata comunitaria. E in questa guerra si inserisce anche “il rieccolo” Andrea Agnelli.
Il presidente della Juventus ha incontrato nei giorni scorsi i colleghi di Real Madrid e Barcellona. Avendo vissuto in diretta il fallimento dell’accordo fra Lega di Serie A e CVC, avrebbe sconsigliato Pérez e Laporta dall’assecondare la Liga.
