Anche altri paesi hanno cambiato nome in passato come la Birmania negli anni Novanta che è diventata Myanmar sotto la spinta dei generali al potere che ne volevano recuperare l’identità rispetto alla storia coloniale.
Il presidente Emmanuel Macron nel 2020 ha cambiato la tonalità di blu nel tricolore per richiamare il drappo francese del 1793, con un evidente riferimento alla Rivoluzione francese.
