Il governo Merkel sta valutando l'invio di una nave da guerra in Giappone. Il segretario di stato parlamentare per la difesa, Thomas Silberhorn, ha dichiarato a Nikkei che la Germania «vuole rafforzare i legami con i nostri partner (asiatici, ndr) nel campo democratico». La nuova strategia ripetuta anche alla Conferenza sulla sicurezza di Monaco mira a essere partner e non più alleato protetto degli Stati Uniti

Il governo tedesco della cancelliera Angela Merkel sta valutando l'invio di una nave da guerra della Marina militare tedesca in Giappone.
Il segretario di stato parlamentare per la difesa, Thomas Silberhorn, ha dichiarato a Nikkei che la Germania «vuole rafforzare i legami con i nostri partner (asiatici, ndr) nel campo democratico».
La ministra della difesa Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer ha spiegato il progetto di un «New Deal» tra Stati Uniti e Europa che vede l’Ue come "partner paritario”, e non più subalterno, sul fronte della sicurezza.
