A dieci anni dalle primavere e trenta dalla guerra del Golfo, la distanza tra Europa e Medio Oriente è cresciuta: il tratto comune è l'estraneità, quasi che l'Italia, l'Europa o l'occidente non c'entrassero nulla. Tale mancanza di empatia nei confronti del mondo arabo non è nuova

Trent'anni fa Desert Storm, la guerra del Golfo. Dieci anni fa le primavere arabe. Due anniversari che interrogano l'Occidente sul proprio rapporto con i movimenti che agitano il medio oriente.
Non siamo estranei a ciò che accadde: tanti errori furono commessi che hanno creato un sistema di conflitti legati tra loro.
Non averato la simpatia per il mondo arabo ha provocato un allontanamento che non ci favorirà né ci aiuterà a stare più tranquilli. Al contrario continuerà a scavare fra i due mondi un abisso più grande.
